What is a Clishmaclaver you say? The Clishmaclaver is a newsletter created by the clan to keep the members up to date with the latest news and "gossip" (clishmaclaver is the Scot word for idle talk; gossip)

The Clan Donnachaidh Society in Scotland was founded in 1893 to maintain and renew the family bond among a clan now scattered throughout the world. There are now branches all over the world, including a number of branches in North America. Clan Donnachaidh Society Upper Midwest, Inc. was founded in 1987, serves the upper Midwest states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. We provide a clan education and promotion tent at many of the Highland Games in these states and we publish a quarterly newsletter, The Clishmaclaver, to connect members and provide information on clan events and activities.

Clan Donnachaidh is known for its camaraderie and hospitality and we look forward to seeing you at the Games this year and invite you to participate in your "Scottish family" heritage at the Clan tent. The list of games and dates we will be attending this year will be on our website soon.

Your membership dues are what we use to fund the cost of clan tent spaces at the Games. You may apply on-line at our website through Pay Pal or return the membership application information with your dues. If you choose to mail your application, I ask that you send your dues directly to our treasurer’s assistant, Mary Jane Robertson (see address below) along with a copy of this email. This will expedite the membership process.

It is important to us to stay in contact with our members and because of rising publication as well as the cost of postage, we post The Clishmaclaver (our newsletter) on our website for those of you who have access to the Internet. We also use email as our primary source of communication when possible, therefore, please provide us with your email address if you have one. We respect your privacy and would only send email messages a few times per year.
